Welcome to Koren Academy! We are a family of homeschoolers looking to open our home to you through the virtual world. Please come in and make yourself comfortable as we embark on our learning adventures together. Our goal is not to merely memorize and regurgitate what’s taught; but to live it, make it personal, and make it matter! We want to engage the senses, make memories, and integrate learning as a vital part of life at any age. Through these numbered and precious years of our children being educated in our home, our mission is to inspire and encourage life long learning while preparing them to be successful adults.
After teaching various courses to other homeschoolers both in the community and my home, I’m excited by the idea of taking them online in the hopes of providing all of the flexibility we home educators crave, while still growing meaningful connections for ourselves and our children.
We began our homeschool adventure eight years ago. My husband and I have six children. I left my career as a pediatric nurse to devote my full and undivided attention to becoming the home educator my children called for. We have evolved and grown immensely as we navigate this uncharted ever-changing jungle together. Our classroom is an hour outside the city of Rochester, Minnesota, where we have been blessed with a generous multi-acre playground. We are a family of explorers and adventure seekers.
